Affordable Homeownership
We create real opportunities for neighbors to move from renting to owning—working with the community, preparing homes and and buyers.
How it started
LEVEL: Equity Building is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to address a growing problem—homeownership is out of reach for too many people.
In many communities, affordable housing options are almost entirely rental. That leaves families without a clear path to ownership—and without access to the long-term stability and wealth that homeownership provides.
LEVEL was created to change that.
We partner with communities, municipalities, and local organizations to create real opportunities for residents to move from renting to owning.

What Drives Us
We believe homeownership should be attainable for the people who already live in a community.
Our work focuses on:
We don’t just build homes—we build homeowners.
Invited in. Built together.
Our work begins by being invited into a community.
We collaborate with local leaders, residents, and partners to identify opportunities—especially vacant or blighted properties that can be transformed into high-quality homes.
Each home is fully renovated, down to the studs, and designed to be move-in ready—giving homeowners a strong, stable start.
Our approach is rooted in relationships, not transactions.

A different approach to development
LEVEL operates at the intersection of community insight and real-world development.
We bring the expertise needed to acquire, manage, and complete housing projects—while working alongside Community Development Corporations (CDCs), municipalities, and other partners.
This allows us to:

Built Through Partnership
Our work depends on strong partnerships at every level.
We collaborate with:
These partnerships make it possible to support buyers not just in purchasing a home—but in sustaining it long-term.

Why It Matters
Homeownership creates stability, builds wealth, and strengthens communities.
By increasing access to ownership, we help:
This is about more than housing—it’s about lasting change.
